This term our topic is Traditional Stories. Our first story that we have been reading has been Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The children have loved dressing up in the role play area and retelling the story. We have had outdoor activities to re-enact the story. Lots of writing opportunities, maths with counting and weighing, cutting and sticking, sequencing but best of the all the children loved making and eating the porridge. Please enjoy a few photos of the children making the porridge.
The Christmas period arrived with lots of excitement and laughter in Reception class. We started slightly earlier than normal at the end of November with a Christmas Jumper Day followed by lots of lovely activities, crafts, productions and parties. Please take a few moments to have a look at a selection of photos taken during this month of madness. 🙂
Don’t worry, the children still did lots of learning during the last few weeks but I thought you’d like to see the photos of all the fun we had this time.
The boys and girls have settled into their new routines now of full days and are enjoying their time with their friends. Some are finding it a bit of a struggle to make it through the day and have snoozes in the library area. We are beginning to teach our phonics and maths and have had prayer time in the class room and at the prayer garden. The children are doing really well as you can see from this new video blog. Enjoy!
All the children took part in the EYFS & KS1 nativity play. It was a great performance by all the children. They all did very well with both their singing and dancing. We were very proud of them all.
The children had a fabulous time at their first school Christmas party. They enjoyed playing party games, had a party hat contest and we even had a very special visitor. We hope you enjoy looking at their photos.
During our ICT time the children all had the opportunity to draw Christmas pictures which we then created Christmas cards.
I think you will agree they are all amazing.
