On Wednesday 9th May, Year 4 went to The Anderton Centre for a one night residential. They had the opportunity to take part in canoeing and den building. They were also shown how to make a campfire and were treated to toasting marshmallows. The children took part in crate stacking, low ropes and orienteering. We really did have a fabulous time and each and every child made St Mary’s proud! Well done Year 4!
As we broke up for our Easter half term, Logan left our class to have a new adventure with his family in Arizona, America. We wish you every luck in everything you do. We will miss you very much. Please keep in touch with us!
What fabulous costumes our Year 4 children had on today for World Book Day. We have shared different stories and have talked about the different characters. You all look amazing!
Today we took our science lesson outside and investigated the different particles in melting and cooling. We made snowmen and covered some with a jumper and some without. We are then going to make observations today and tomorrow to see the results of our test. We will let you know how we get on!
Alex from the Schools’ Library Service delivered a starter lesson for our next topic of The Romans. The children really enjoyed all the information Alex gave them. The workshop really ignited the children’s interest and it left them wanting to know more. Alex brought along Roman artifacts for the children to have a look at and have a go at sketching them, learning what each one was used for. The children loved trying on the Armour of a Roman Soldier- they said it was VERY heavy.

Please leave a comment below on anything that you remember from our trip for example, facts about recycling, what you liked and disliked or even what items go in the correct bins.
