Fruit and Vegetables

On Wednesday Year 1 were looking at fruits and vegetables.

They first predicted which were fruit and which were vegetables by looking at them and discussing it in a group.

We then found out that fruit have seeds in them and vegetables do not have seeds in them.

Next Miss Burke cut open the fruit and vegetables so we could see inside it.

We found seeds in peppers, apples and avocados. This means they are fruit. We did not find any seeds in potatoes, carrots or onions. This means that they are vegetables.
